While it's only been out for around a week now, I think it's safe to say that Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is one of animation studio Science Saru's best. Killer animation with great character designs, a soundtrack you can't help but jam to, and a star studded cast, it has it all. But there's another Netflix anime that really helped put the studio on the map, and one you really should check out if you haven't: Devilman Crybaby.
For those that haven't heard of it, Devilman Crybaby is based on the 70s manga titled just simply Devilman, by Go Nagai. It's a manga you should make yourself familiar with if you're a Neon Genesis Evangelion fan, as it was a huge influence on the 90s mecha show, both in its dramatic dark turns, as well as the potential queer elements of its main characters. Crybaby is an updated take on Devilman, bringing it forward to a modern day setting, and it is nothing short of astounding.
It centres on a teenager called Akira Fudo, the titular Devilman, himself fused with a demon granting him great powers and strength, all because of his close friend Ryu Asuka (yes, there is some romantic tension between them). Iconic anime director Masaaki Yuasa helmed the adaptation, his signature fluid art style on full display, one that works incredibly well for the at times quite out there demon designs. I should be absolutely clear that Devilman Crybaby is for a bit of an older audience than Scott Pilgrim Takes Off; there's a bit of nudity, a lot of violence, that kind of thing. But I think it's also the perfect next step for those who watched Scott Pilgrim Takes Off as adults that are revisiting something from their teen years.

Bite the EGS bullet and play one of 2023's most interesting shooters right now, while it's on sale
2023 has been a busy year. Sometimes it felt like you couldn’t go one month without a game of the year contender. That inevitably meant that a few smaller games got overshadowed, which is what makes the end of the year period perfect for going back and giving those little gems a chance.
Witchfire is one such game, and I am here to tell you why you should get it.
Witchfire is the long-in-development – and I do mean long – shooter from The Astronauts. If that name doesn’t sound familiar, perhaps the pedigree of the people behind it will. Painkiller, Bulletstorm, and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter are all games devs at the studio have worked on.

World of Warcraft Giving One Old World Feature a Huge Facelift
World of Warcraft is giving some of its Alliance ships a facelift in Patch 10.2.5, Seeds of Renewal. While it may seem like a small change at first glance, it could be the first signs of the slow-but-sure world revamp World of Warcraft is starting in The Worldsoul Saga.

Diablo 4 Steam Reviews Appear To Be Manipulated
While Steam reviews for Blizzard titles haven't exactly been positive, one Diablo 4 player discovered strong evidence that its review score may have been manipulated by an unknown party. Diablo 4 has been the subject of review-bombing since launch, as it didn't take long for players to become frustrated with the game. This frustration continued to simmer in the community unabated, arguably reaching its peak with the debut of Patch 1.1, just a few days prior to the launch of Season of the Malignant.

EA Sports FC 24 cheap: Black Friday deals slice 50% off this year’s ‘FIFA’
If you’ve yet to splash out on EAFC 24, now’s a great time to do so thanks to some killer Black Friday deals, which could see you save up to 50% of the game’s original release price.
Sure, if you’re one of the many frugal freddies who’ve opted to keep playing FIFA 23, FIFA 22, or an even older entry in the series, rather than opting to upgrade to the latest instalment of EA’s annually-released footy sim, you’ve probably been feeling pretty ok about that decision. Though, once you’ve seen how much both physical and digital editions of the game’s standard edition, which was priced at £69.99 on release in September, are currently going for, you might change your mind.
For example, if you’re looking for a physical copy of EA Sports FC 24 on PS5 or Xbox Series X, several UK retailers including Currys (you’ll want to head here and here), Amazon (you’ll want to head here and here), and Smyths (you’ll want to head here and here), are currently selling them for just £41.99. You can also add Very to that list, with its PS5 and Series X copies being found here and here.

Somehow, the new EA Sports FC 24 update has made the Ultimate Team store even more predatory
EA Sports FC 24’s Ultimate Team store has received a new update, and the main thing it looks to do is re-arrange the packs on offer so that a bunch of more expensive/flashy ones are now displayed a bit more prominently.
Yup, if you’re looking to open some standard bronze or silver packs, you’ll now have to scroll to the back of the cupboard, past newer packs that cost a prettier penny, but boast a chance of dropping the likes of Centurions and Icons. As you can imagine, players aren’t exactly pleased with this move.
According to the Tweet from the EA Sports FC direct comms account which announced the change, it’s designed to help the game’s store “offer a more curated experience for FC 24 players”.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters makes a good case for Hollywood nepotism
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters isn’t yet another show about the Windsors, though one could understand the confusion. It is, however, the latest Apple TV+ genre smash, joining the other hugely ambitious projects on the service such as Silo, For All Mankind, and Foundation. Lovers of all things scifi or adjacent have been eating good for the last couple of years courtesy of Tim Cook and his seemingly pathological need to give a lengthy free trial to anyone who walks near a Curries.
This particular show though, a prestige drama spin-off of those Godzilla films you remember enjoying but can scarcely recall any details of, is unlikely to convert many paying subscribers. That’s not to say it’s bad: it isn’t. It’s just a baffling addendum to a series of films that, by the closing credits of Godzilla vs. Kong, had answered every lingering question set up by Godzilla 2014. Namely, “how does Godzilla get around the planet so quickly?”, “what is Monarch”, and “so are these guys doing Mechagodzilla or what?”.
And once you’ve gear-shifted from the gritty, sombre, naturalistic take on Godzilla that the MonsterVerse started with to the gleeful comic book absurdity of Godzilla and Kong tag-teaming a Terminator-esque Mechagodzilla with the brain of a revenge-obsessed King Ghidorah, there isn’t really anywhere else to go. Except backwards, to fill in some of the gaps in the timeline. What gaps, you might ask? Well, wherever they can crowbar one in.

Someone call 2004, Fortnite's next big event looks set to feature Eminem
Fortnite’s next big live event, dubbed “The Big Bang’, will take place on December 2, and, in addition to bringing about “a new beginning” for the game, looks like it’ll feature a cameo from rapper Eminem.
Yes, that Eminem. The guy who was very cheeky and popular in the late 90s and early 2000s, and has remained kind of cheeky and popular ever since. He can still do a decent tease though, as the grandmothers of the world have found out.
Following a bunch of speculation that Mr Nem might be participating in the event or at least receiving his own in-game skin, the rapper has shared a teaser for his arrival in Fortnite on Twitter. In the short clip, we get a nice shot of the Earth that soon zooms in on a family’s television, which is soon emblazoned with the Fortnite logo followed by a backwards letter E.

LinkedIn may have leaked a little bit more information about The Last of Us 2's baffling roguelike mode
The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is coming in January and a developer’s LinkedIn profile may have shed a little more light on what No Return, the game’s new roguelike mode, will involve.
If you’ve been living under a rock, since the remaster was spotted in the backend of the PlayStation Network database late last week, things have moved at a breakneck pace and we now know it’s set to arrive on January 19. PlayStation has even revealed that those upgrading from the original PS4 version of the game could be in line for an instant platinum trophy, as well as providing some info on what to expect from its array of additions and tweaks.
Arguably the most eye-catching of those additions is a new roguelike survival mode called No Return, with the LinkedIn profile of former Naughty Dog developer Colin Freeman having possibly offered a bit of extra info on how it’ll work. As part of his experience providing QA Testing and Developer Support on TLOU2 Remastered, Freeman cites having worked on several aspects of “12 different No Return roguelike level layouts”.

New World of Warcraft Dragonriding Reward Could Be Bugged
World of Warcraft is concluding the Tyr questline in Patch 10.2, though the advertised reward of getting a new dragonriding customization is nowhere to be found. While Dragonflight was billed as an expansion that would prune all the bloated systems that made Shadowlands and Battle for Azeroth such a chore for the average player, it also introduced dragonriding as a new way to traverse the world. It didn't take long for the community to become enamored with the feature, as World of Warcraft players still enjoy dragonriding even in the final raid tier of Dragonflight.

This Starfield mod totally revamps outpost building by imbuing it with the joys of capitalism
If you found Starfield’s vanilla outpost building system to be a bit of a disappointment, a new mod might be able to help reinvigorate your desire to colonise half the galaxy, by giving you the chance to become a heartless corporate investor.
That’s right, fetch your top hat and fistfuls of interstellar Monopoly money, it’s time for you to splash out on the chance to become the overlord of a depressing mining colony on some far flung moon. After all, who needs picturesque homesteads nestled amid alien flora when there’s a profit to be made.
The mod that’ll seemingly allow you to assume the form of some terrifying industrialist beelzebub is called ‘SSEO - Outpost Investor’ and is the work of modder JayDovahkin. They’ve decided to have a go at transforming outpost building into “a proper endgame system to sit alongside shipbuilding”, by making the process of manufacturing resources a bit more rewarding, but also balanced enough not to become an instant route to mega-wealth.

Play Suicide Squad early by signing up to this closed alpha test
As much as we like to dunk on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League - and that most recent trailer certainly didn't make things better - it is still major AAA release from one of the top studios in the industry.
That is to say, you have to at least be intrigued by it, even if the whole thing looks like re-heated GAAS you've seen and done a dozen times before.
If you feel the same way, then you may be interested in playing Suicide Squad for yourself without paying for a copy. Rocksteady is hosting a limited alpha test next week across all major platforms. This is a closed test, however, meaning you'll need to sign an NDA, and won't be able to share footage or talk about what you play. There'll also be a permanent watermark bearing a unique identifier all over your screen, just in case.

Hoping for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 and Borderlands 4? They might be in the works
Whoops, it looks like Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 might have been revealed in a developer's LinkedIn profile.
Developer's accidentally revealing unconfirmed sequels on LinkedIn seems to be a tale as old as time these days, as it's happened once again, this time on the profile of one Randel Reiss. According to Reiss' profile, the developer worked at the Gearbox owned Lost Boys Interactive on a contract basis. In the description for the role, Reiss listed out a number of the games that the contract covered, including titles like the fist Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Elder Scrolls Online, and more. The more being, quite notably, Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2.
You can see a screenshot of the profile over on Eurogamer, but since then the description has been changed so that both projects are now "Unannounced Sequel [Unreal Engine 4]" in the same spots they previously were. Seems like this might have been a bit of a panicked change, and the change being as it is certainly lends it some credence; just deleting the mentions could imply a mistake. Of course, it's also important to note the game development is a fickle thing, so such hypothetical sequels are just that until they're officially announced.

Is it a game? Is it a collab? PlayStation Japan is teasing… something
Well, good news fans of teases, PlayStation Japan has decided to unleash one, and it seems to be pointing towards some kind of advertising collab with Japanese band King Gnu.
As most good vague stunts designed to get people talking do, this one originated on Twitter, with PS Japan having well and truly put the cat amongst the pigeons by posting a short video featuring PlayStation’s iconic buttons logo, a crown, and ‘11/23’. That said, by far the best part of the clip is the audio, which features the usual PlayStation voice jingle, followed by some extremely high-quality scribbling sounds.
Naturally, after the tease was spotted by Genki_JPN, it hasn’t taken eagle-eyed fans long to connect the dots and come up with a theory as to what could be being hinted at. Then again, given that Japanese band King Gnu went ahead and posted the exact same short clip, inferring that they’re involved in some fashion isn’t exactly Harrier Du Bois-level detective work, assuming you knew where to look.

Post a Pokemon card promo packet at Pokemon post offices popping up pan Europe
Later this month and throughout December, The Pokemon Company will be shacking up across the UK, France, and Germany with a post office pop up.
Last week, The Pokemon Company announced a cute, very temporary pop up it will be hosting in various cities over the next few weeks that's all about getting Pokemon cards into the hands of your friends and family. Kicking off November 18 in Edinburg, you'll be able to head to a Poke Post location where you'll be given a Pokemon TCG pack to keep for yourself, and one that "you can post on-site for a friend, all free of charge!" Those attending will be able to choose between a Pikachu- or Eevee-themed envelope (of course), which will include a promo card with the corresponding Pokemon, as well as a Scarlet & Violet fun pack.
Once you've sent that off to whichever friend you choose, you then get a little gift pack yourself - just bear in mind you can only send a card to someone within the country you attend the pop up at. If you decide to send off the Pikachu set, you'll get the Eevee set, and vice versa. While I expect the event to be busy, the Poke Post Mailing Office is open from 10am to 7pm, local time, so at least you have a big window of opportunity.

Diablo 4 Players Will Be Able to Earn Increased XP and Gold For a Limited Time
Blizzard is giving Diablo 4 players the opportunity to earn an increased amount of experience and gold for a short period of time, thanks to the return of an event. With Season of Blood in full swing, players are still refining game-breaking builds, such as the Whirlwind Barbarian, so experience and gold are much-needed resources. And while there are many ways to earn experience and gold in Diablo 4, like Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides, this boost is a surefire way to help casual and hardcore players maximize their gains.

PlayStation Plus Classics next batch of games could include a PS1 classic
It's another day of PlayStation Plus Classic leaks, this time potentially confirming a classic PS1 game, and a couple of PSP titles.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Pixar's Up for the PSP, of all games, was being added to PlayStation Plus' Classics Catalogue (an inclusion that wasn't received the best by fans). News of its arrival on the service initially came from the Taiwanese rating board, which yet again has confirmed three more games that appear to be joining the collection. As spotted by Gematsu, the biggest of the three titles is easily one of my favourite games from the PS1, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.
Now, to be fair, it has been a long while since I've played Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, but I loved this game as a kid. It was colourful, the soundtrack was bombastic, and there were even some clips from the TV series. The perfect adaptation for a child who was ignorant towards what a good game actually is (I say this as I learn that reviews at the time of its release were, uh, pretty average, but I was four, leave me alone). You'll apparently be able to play Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on PS4 and PS5.

The Sims 5 might feature some Animal Crossing inspired multiplayer
The Sims 5 will be the first title with multiplayer, and the devs working on it have been looking to titles like Animal Crossing for inspiration.
Around a year ago, EA gave us all our first look at the next Sims game, Project Rene, with arguably the biggest change for it being the fact that it will have multiplayer. We still haven't seen all that much of the game, and it's certainly still a while away before it releases. But Sims VP of franchise Lyndsay Pearson recently made an appearance on the One More Life podcast, detailing some of the ways the team is thinking about how they might approach The Sims' take on multiplayer (thanks, GameSpot).
"We definitely want to introduce multiplayer. Not multiplayer in the big, scary 'jump into a world full of strangers' kind of way, but literally how do you and your friends want to play together?" said Pearson. "There's a lot of different flavors that could take, so we're exploring a lot of different spaces there, because playing together can look like so many different things." The Sims obviously has quite a particular style which is part of what makes the game so appealing to its community, with Pearson explaining that the team wants to make sure even the multiplayer feels appropriately "Simsy."

Uh oh, the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake might be dead for real this time
Sorry to those of you looking forward to the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, but it sounds like the project is at a standstill.
Earlier this week on GiantBomb's Game Mess Mornings, frequent sharer of insider tidbits Jeff Grubb made the claim that the Knights of the Old Republic remake is no longer being worked on in any shape or form. "This game is not being worked on right now, full stop," Grubb said. "This game is not being worked on in any way, at any studio." It's obviously a confident statement from Grubb, one that like all statements like these should be taken with a grain of salt. But it's not like the Knights of the Old Republic has had a particularly smooth time so far.
Last year a report claimed that the remake was indefinitely delayed, with both the game's art director and design director having been fired around the time. Earlier this year a financial report implied that it wasn't exactly dead in the water just yet, though it didn't clarify how the project was coming along. So this recent report from Grubb isn't exactly the most confidence inspiring one.

Rumor: Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2 Potentially Leaked
The Borderlands franchise has expanded significantly in recent years, and if a rumor suggesting that two more games are in the works ends up being legitimate, then the series will only grow larger in the near future. Supposedly, both Borderlands 4 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands 2 are currently in the works.

Steam is Now Telling Players to Play With a Controller for Certain Games
The latest update to Valve's Steam client now includes a message before starting a game, helpfully informing a player that they will require a controller for the best gameplay experience. The Steam client is still one of the most popular PC gaming storefronts and platforms for gamers to use. Several AAA and indie titles are published on Steam, which all feature different control methods. Steam's controller support has been pretty extensive, especially with how advanced the Steam Input can be in reading several different controllers.

Baldur's Gate 3 hotfix addresses Gale’s romance scene, several bugs, visual issues, more
A new hotfix is available for Baldur's Gate 3, addressing several bugs, visual issues and blockers.
One of the issues fixed is Gale's romance scene. Apparently, it was playing in what looked like "some kind of black void," but with Hotfix 11, the "ambience is restored." That's good news.
Speaking of romance, kissing animations for Astarion are still messed up, but the development team is currently working on a fix.

Blizzard is bringing back Diablo 4's XP/Gold boost event, and it's marginally better this time
For a live service game, Diablo 4 has surprisingly few double XP events. Mother's Blessing, as it's known in the game, is the closest thing you'll get to a double XP event (it's not actually double). Well, the second iteration of that event is coming back next week.
The good news is that it's longer, and offers bigger bonuses to boot.
Whereas the first Mother's Blessing (which took place in September), ran for just four days, this one runs for a full week. It also had a bonus of just 25% to Gold and XP earn, compared to 35% for this one.

Starfield's latest must-have mod adds intense survival mechanics to your interstellar exploration
If you’re in search of a way to add an extra element of challenge to your adventures in Starfield, one of the latest mods to hit the Nexus will do just that by giving your character a bunch of realistic needs to keep track of.
That’s right, remember all of those mods - and the Survival Mode eventually released via Skyrim’s Creation Club - that’ve forced you to actually behave somewhat like a human being in Bethesda games over the years? There’s now an incredibly detailed one for Starfield, which’ll finally give you a reason to be carrying around enough patty melt sandwiches and Terrabrew coffee to cater to a small nation.
The mod in question is the wonderfully-named ‘Starvival - Immersive Survival Addon’ and is the work of modder lKocMoHaBTl. They write that it: “provides a fully working NEEDS mechanic with stages, new addictions and full list of other complimentary features,” cheekily adding, “Consider to prepare thoroughly, Starborn!”

Modern Warfare 3's first playlist update has players glowing red
Sledgehammer Games, which recently rolled out the first major patch for Modern Warfare 3, has also pushed out a playlist update for the weekend. Playlist updates bring new playlists to the game, and typically rotate every week or so.
For this first one, the developer is starting out strong with three of them.
The update brings exactly three new playlists, available for anyone on the multiplayer screen. First, there's a Terminal 24/7 playlists. As the name suggests, this playlist will rotate between different game modes, but only on the map Terminal.

Free Assassin’s Creed Mirage update to include new game plus and permadeath modes
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to swan dive into a fresh Assassin’s Creed Mirage playthrough, then here’s some good news - new game plus and permadeath modes are coming to the game very soon.
Even better, it looks like both will be arriving as part of a free update, which is set to drop at some point in December. So, it seems as though Ubisoft has decided to give everyone an excuse to spend another 25-ish hours parkouring around Baghdad and stabbing people for Christmas. We certainly aren’t complaining.
“We hear you,” reads the Tweet from the official Assassin's Creed account announcing the news, “[a] New Game [plus] mode for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available in a free update this December.”

Suicide Squad looks like the same game everyone dunked on, even in newest trailer
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League continues to be a name that is too long and cumbersome. But this isn't the first time we've learned of that name, nor is it the first time we've seen the new game from Rocksteady in action.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of the things people hated about it the first time they saw it has changed in the months since.
Suicide Squad has a new trailer, the first in an Insider series that looks to offer a deeper look at the game than we'd seen before, as well as share some insights from the team at Rocksteady. The focus of this first episode is on story and gameplay, and there's certainly plenty of the latter to watch in this one.

Desperate for changes to EA Sports FC 24? EA is looking for volunteers to provide feedback on it
Feeling frustrated with the experience currently on offer in EAFC 24? Well, if you’re interested, EA is looking for volunteers to provide it with feedback on teams and players.
The roles the publisher is advertising come with the swanky title of Data Reviewer at the rather ominously-named EA Sports FC Data Collective. The main duties involved look to simply be playing the game and having your say on how teams and players evolve stat-wise.
“Get involved in the EA Sports FC Data Collective for the world’s best football video game and prove yourself to be a football expert by providing feedback on players and teams as a Data Reviewer,” reads the description of the role on the EAFC 24 website.

Modern Warfare 3 gets its first big update, but it's not the one you want
Modern Warfare 3 has received its first major patch since the game's release on November 10. Patch 1.33 came out Wednesday on all platforms, and it's one that's been highly anticipated. The problem, unfortunately, is that so much of what players were looking forward to didn't actually make it.
Developer Sledgehammer Games said in a note released alongside the patch notes that some of the scheduled changes will instead be released with the next update. The list of missing fixes includes Zombies, general weapon balance, stability and more.
With that said, patch 1.33 is a hefty one in its own right, bringing multiple fixes to the game across all of its modes, even the dreaded COD HQ. The patch also adds DLSS 3.0 support to the PC version, for those using GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs.

This $10 Steam game is going massively viral, and it’s easy to see why
Lethal Company describes itself as a “co-op horror about scavenging at abandoned moons to sell scrap to the Company,” and that’s what it is… to begin with. As you scavenge for scrap and desperately try to meet your quota for the Company, it won’t be too long before things start turning awry.
The Steam game – which will only set you back $10 for hours of replayability with friends – has managed to sell 642,000 copies on Steam since it launched just a few weeks ago on 23 October. It currently sits above Baldur’s Gate 3, Apex Legends, and even the Steam Deck in Steam’s Global Top Sellers and, on top of that, its reviews are overwhelmingly positive… and there’s over 12,000 of them (at the time of writing).
I shouldn’t need to tell you to play this game considering that the reception of it speaks for itself, but if you needed an additional nudge to go deposit $10 into your Steam account for this co-op survival horror title, this is it. This Early Access title might not look like much given its grisly cell-shaded graphics, but fans are wholly obsessed with Lethal Company, and its gruesome aesthetic is clearly just another part of its charm. The trajectory of its success is actually reminiscent of Among Us – which bodes well for Lethal Company’s future.

Warner Bros.' Coyote vs Acme situation even has a US congressman calling for change
After Warner Bros. decided to scrap Coyote vs. Acme for a tax write-down, a US congressman has even voiced displeasure at the decision.
Last week, Warner Bros. made the annoying and bad decision to just shelve its live-action, CG hybrid film Coyote vs. Acme, starring John Cena. It was quite literally to just save money on taxes, an infuriating decision it also made with Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt last year. Backlash was immediate, though, with many across the internet - including some of those that worked on the film - expressing irritation at the news, particularly due to the fact the film had been completely shot. And now, US congressman Joaquin Castro has even commented on the matter.
"The [Warner Bros. Discover] tactic of scrapping fully made films for tax breaks is predatory and anti-competitive," wrote Castro on Twitter. "As the Justice Department and [Federal Trade Commission] revise their antitrust guidelines they should review this conduct. As someone remarked, it’s like burning down a building for the insurance money." While comments from random people on the internet can only get you so far, an actual congressman tackling the matter is potentially a different story (though, politicians aren't exactly known for following through on things).

It took a lot longer for Escape from Tarkov to add vaulting than PUBG, but it's coming
Escape from Tarkov, the ultra-realistic shooter from Battlestate Games, continues to dominate its own niche of extraction shooters. One particular element of the game, however, has always invited a lot of criticism.
That being movement. Soon, movement in Escape from Tarkov will greatly improve, thanks to the arrival of vaulting.
That is to say: the simple ability to vault over barriers, short walls, and cardboard boxes - something the game is getting more than six years after it became available. The feature was first revealed during a recent livestream, and the game's official Twitter account helpfully clipped it out for everyone.

18 years later Shadow the Hedgehog remains the series' guiltiest pleasure
Shadow the Hedgehog is the bravest Sonic game. I'll stand by that statement until I die, I swear to god. It's more out-there than Unleashed, more absurd than the Who Killed Sonic dating sim. It's also by no means the best Sonic game ever released, but as an occasional enjoyer of going fast and all that entails, it is damn interesting, even 18 years on.
Shadow the Hedgehog was such a swerve of expectations, such a wildcard. Some individual or group of people had a moronic idea. Let's take the speed out of Sonic - let's rip it right out and replace it with guns. How on earth this was percieved as a good idea is beyond me. Perhaps in some bold attempt to appeal to a whole new audience, entire departments looked at Shadow reloading an SMG menacingly and thought "yeah that rocks, the kids will love this."
I, tragically, was one of those kids, albeit on that fell victim a few years after the game's original release. I found Shadow the Hedgehog where all the great games of old could be found - gathering dust with a staggering discount on a shelf at GAME. That may be Shadow the Hedgehog's natural habitat to be honest, the place it always deserved to end up.
