AEW Fight Forever Reveals FTR Revival DLC Pack

One of the glaring omissions for many players in AEW Fight Forever's roster has been the tag team of FTR, though the first DLC pack looks to remedy this as THQ Nordic and Yuke's provide a proper look at the pair in-game. The game's launch roster features several popular tag teams from the young wrestling promotion, most notably the Young Bucks and Lucha Bros, both of whom have been with the company since it began in 2019. However, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have been main event players since arriving in AEW in 2020 and are now available in the new game.

Diablo 4 player is the first in the world to find Andariel's Visage, one of rarest items in the game

Blizzard recently had to clarify some details about the rarest Unique drops in Diablo 4 following fan confusion regarding whether or not they're actually in the game, and how players can go about finding it. Unsurprisingly, the developer confirmed that yes, the items are in the game, but they're incredibly rare. There are six of them, to be exact, and while they can drop from anywhere in the game where traditional Uniques can, your chances of getting them are very slim. But just a couple of days later, one player lucked out, and the game droppped one of the fabled Uniques for them. According to WoW Head, Diablo 4 player YesYou found Andariel's Visage, a Unique helmet that has a very high Lucky Hit chance to trigger a poison nova. The effect applies 10,077 Poisoning damage over five seconds to enemies in the area. Andariel's Visage also comes with Life Steal, which does exactly what you think it does. Read more

Pokemon Fan Creates Adorable New Form for Bulbasaur

The three original starters from the very first Pokemon games remain fan favorites more than 25 years later, and one creative fan gives Bulbasaur a pretty, fruit-themed redesign to express their love for Kanto's Grass-type starter Pokemon. With the Pokemon series introducing countless new visages for existing Pokemon in the forms of regional variants, mega evolutions, and Gigantamax forms over the years, it's no wonder that artists are inspired to create new designs of their own.

Diablo 4 Player Comes Up With Idea to Make Town Portals Better

The open world in Diablo 4 still adheres to a few old conventions from past Diablo titles, but players are hoping Blizzard breaks tradition when it comes to Town Portals and the Capitals they're tethered to. The Regions in Diablo 4 represent the currently playable world, but the Acts themselves correspond to a Region much more loosely than they did in Diablo 3 or Diablo 2. Though there is a numbered path to experience the main story of Diablo 4 in its assumed order, players can progress through the first three Acts however they desire.

The Sims 4 will be letting Simmers horse around with neigh-bors in new Horse Ranch DLC

Horses will finally be returning to the Sims series, with a new Horse Ranch Expansion Pack being announced for The Sims 4, arriving on July 20. Rumours surrounding equestrian-activities in The Sims 4 have been around for a while, but EA finally confirmed the news by sharing a new trailer detailing The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack. Season 5 of Overwatch 2 has made some big changes to Cassidy's magnetic grenade ability, and one fan shares an unbelievable moment showing this new grenade being used to stick a Pharah player from across the map. Pikmin 4 download cards reveal split-screen features, treasures, and a house we can explore

We’ve not long to wait before Pikmin 4 will be in the hands of keen fans, and download cards are now already appearing in Japan (first reported by NintendoLife). These Pikmin 4 download cards are accompanied by fresh screenshots from the game, and reveal some fancy new features that fans can look forward to. Shared in a tweet from TokyoGameLife, the cards show off split-screen multiplayer, new treasures, and more. When it comes to split-screen multiplayer, one player will be able to support the other by shooting with a reticle. The illustrations on the download card make it look as though one player job will be to control the Pikmin, while the other plays as our space-faring captain, and it doesn’t look like online multiplayer is going to be supported. This is a shame for those looking forward to playing with friends across the ‘net. Read more

Don’t worry Xbox fans, Avowed’s graphics are going to get better

We received our first glimpse of the new Obsidian RPG - Avowed - at the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month in the form of a two-minute trailer. The first-person fantasy game looks pretty good, but some fans already have tempered their expectations. The Avowed trailer was more recently shared to forum, RPG Codex, and met with a mixture of responses; some can’t wait for the game, some are sick of fantasy settings, and many others think the trailer is “the shittiest trailer I’ve seen in a while.” Ultimately, there’s over 80 pages of criticism, some of it actually being constructive, with some excitement sprinkled in from Obsidian fans. An Obsidian developer with the username ‘Briar Diem’ soon contributed to the thread, attempting to give players a little more hope in Avowed and share some of Obsidian’s process with users. “All I can say is the game has not entered Alpha yet, art will get refined in various ways. Lighting will change. Though, designs will not change, of course. They are what they are.” Read more

Wholesome Diablo 4 players are trying to make up for the game's lack of social features

The larger Diablo 4 is, the more the need for in-game social features becomes more pressing. Diablo 4 has a best-in-class party scaling system, but it's let down by the lack of a basic LFG system. The problem doesn't become apparent until you finish the campaign, reach level 50 and start diving into the endgame. Though most players can solo campaign content just fine, things start to become significantly harder in the endgame. Diablo 4 is an MMO, but it's one without some basic group-finding features that are typical of the majority of MMOs. The game even wants players to group up, with boosts to XP gain that apply even to players in the vicinity of others. Especially in the endgame, Diablo 4 becomes a lot more hostile to solo players. Teamfight Tactics players are furious about gacha-style battle pass

Set 9 of Teamfight Tactics - titled Runeterra Reforged - has gone live. While players are having a great time with the drastically new collection of units, combos, and in-game mechanics, many are frustrated with changes that have been made to the battle pass. The main source of ire stems from the removal of Little Legend eggs. Before, players who invested enough time into the set could expect some eggs as a reward, regardless of whether they were paying for the premium pass or not. These would grant a random Little Legend - an upgradable player avatar - from across the game's life. For those who paid for the pass, new Little Legends from the current set were easily attainable. However, these eggs have been poached from the battle pass by Riot Games, replaced with a new kind of currency called Treasure Tokens. Rather than collect the eggs directly, players can now spend these Treasure tokens in the Treasure Realms. It's a gacha system, a style of reward system which has players spend currency for randomised rewards. If you've not experienced one before, the term has its roots in gachapon Japanese toy machines, but you can think of it like a sort of video game slot machine that pays out cosmetics rather than cash. McDonald's releases video game for 25-year-old console

The Game Boy Color released in 1998, and today marks the 52nd birthday of McDonald’s furry, purple mascot Grimace. So, what has McDonald’s decided to do with this information? Whip up some purple patties in his honour? No, the fast-food chain has done one better than that by releasing a video game all about Grimace's Birthday shenanigans for the Game Boy Color. Honestly, a much cooler move from McDonald’s than the competition to win one of its McCrispy Gaming Chairs late last year, and almost as cool as the chicken nugget-shaped Tetris handheld that McDonald’s released in China just last month. The Grimace game, titled Grimace’s Birthday, has been developed by Krool Toys using GB Studio (via RetroDodo). If you’re hoping to give it a go but don’t have a Game Boy Color to hand, you can try the game on Krool Toys website or via mobile. Although not advertised by McDonalds as being one of the ways to play, those with a physical Game Boy Color, however, can download the game as a ROM file via the Internet Archive and play it on the go. Diablo 4 Nerfs Popular Farming Spot

Over the past few days, Diablo 4 has nerfed the effective experience gain from several dungeons, including the most popular farming spot in the game. The journey to reach the level cap and challenge the Pinnacle Boss in Diablo 4 demands plenty of patience and takes a lot of effort. Though many streamers have enjoyed success in getting there several times across different characters, most Diablo fans take a more measured approach to their leveling.

Take a look at this stunning new Assassin’s Creed Mirage story trailer

Assassin’s Creed Mirage promises to take Assassin’s Creed back to its roots, and it’s looking pretty damn good so far. In an all-new trailer shown off at today’s Ubisoft Forward showcase, fans get a lengthy look at the coming-of-age story of Basim. Mirage marks the series return to the more stealthy gameplay that Assassin’s Creed is enamoured for, with players primarily roaming Baghdad as they engage in parkour, stealth their way around the districts, and take part in some slick close-range combat. Mirage will also arrive in a smaller package with a shorter campaign length than recent Assassin's Creed titles, but it looks like it's bound to pack a punch. We already got a look at some gameplay two weeks ago, and our own Jim Trinca thinks Mirage might just be forging the best kinda of remake. Today, however, we were able to sit down and learn more about the story of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and its street-thief-turned-assassin protagonist. Read more

While contents are not presently known, it is safe to assume it will contain physical goodies and other items to entice you. Cult classic delisted Xbox 360 era shooter is getting a remaster

In a surprise announcement that nobody saw coming, Shadows of the Damned is getting a remaster. This is a pretty big deal, considering the original game is no longer available; it was delisted on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2020. Now, however, it’s coming back in the form of a remaster. 12 years after the Shadows of the Damn released on Xbox 360 (among other platforms), the original development team behind the game - Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacturer - are back to remaster the 2011 game. Now, I can only hope that Akira Yamaoka is back to score it, too! An announcement trailer was shared on June 8, and initially looked to be celebrating the anniversary of Shadows of the Damned. The trailer began with Grasshopper Manufacturer community manager, James R. Mountain, talking about the game. Soon enough, however, he’s cut off by Shadows of the Damned protagonist, Garcia Hotspur, coming to perform an office shoot-out. Read more

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 4 is looking like one of its biggest

Call of Duty made an appearance at the Summer Game Fest showcase, but not to debut the officially confirmed "premium" Call of Duty release for 2023, which is rumoured to be in development at Sledgehammer Games as a direct sequel to last year's game. Instead, we got our first look at gameplay from the upcoming Season 4 for Modern Warfare 2, and Warzone (Activision has seemingly dropped the "2"). The new season arrives June 14 on all platforms. Season 4 has maybe one of the game's largest content drops on day one. It all starts with the new Vondel map, which will be available in Resurgence, DMZ, and the Lockdown limited-time-mode in Warzone at launch. Vondel will arrive for standard battle royale with the mid-season update. Read more

Diablo 4 Players Are Missing Helpful Features from Previous Games

A Diablo 4 player has put together a list of design elements that Blizzard implemented in past Diablo games but left out of the new release. Now that Diablo 4 has been available for a week, at least via early access, players have grown comfortable with the gameplay. In doing so, some have noticed certain features from Diablo 3 or even Diablo 2 that are absent from Diablo 4. It's unclear if these decisions were made intentionally or not, but some Diablo 4 players have grown frustrated all the same.

I can’t believe how nice everyone is in Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is something a bit special, isn’t it? As Alex mentioned in his Street Fighter 6 review, you can tell from the second you start to get your teeth into Capcom’s latest fighter that this, really, is an all-timer. The incredible balancing of the fighting system, the well-considered comeback options, the weight with which you can punish whiffs, the variable and meaningful options open to even the most gimmicky characters… it’s Street Fighter at its peak, and a solid foundation for the next decade – if not decades – of the series’ life. And us hopeless fighting game dependents here at VG247 aren’t the only people that think this, either – take a casual look around the industry right now (past all the smoke and hellfire summoned by Diablo 4) and you’ll see that just about everyone is learning their half-circles, Dragon Punches and Drive Parry times, too. It’s the most-played fighting game on Steam, ever, and it’s only been out a week. The numbers say a lot. I am, by no means, a very good Street Fighter player. I can get beyond Bronze in the in-game ranking system, and then start to struggle against players that really know what they’re doing (and know how to keep Cammy and her Hooligan combination at bay, despite its new delay-based properties). So, over this past weekend, I have begun to lose more than I win – but I don’t mind, I want to get better, and losing is part of that battle. Read more

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will let you explore twice as much of New York

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 obviously takes place in New York once again, but Insomniac has shared that the map is double the size now. When it comes to something like Marvel's Spider-Man, making a sequel means you can't exactly change the map - it is just set in the actually real city of New York, so there's only so much you can change. Of course, that doesn't mean you could explore the whole of New York in the first game, meaning there was room to expand upon it. And it expand upon it Insomniac has, as according to an interview with The Washington Post (paywall, thanks IGN), Marvel's Spider-Man 2's creative director Bryan Intihar has said the map is "double the size," compared to the first game. "In terms of the size of the city, it’s double the size compared to Spider-Man 1," said Intihar. "When you play in Queens, there’s much more of a neighbourhood feel, smaller buildings, which is why the web wings work so well traversing in that area, where you can swing low to the ground if you want to, or you can fly through." Diablo 4 early access launch wasn't a complete disaster

After years of anticipation, Diablo 4 finally launched. Well, only the early access launch for players who opted for the more expensive Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions of the game. Still, as the first time the full (paid) game is available to play, it's important for the launch to go smooth. Diablo 4 is an always-online game launching on all three major platforms, so the stakes are high. While the real launch, coming up on June 6, will likely be substantially more challenging for Blizzard, last night's early access launch mostly went off without a hitch. Even queue times were fairly short, and many players reported staying online for hours without crashes. Read more
